Rutledge Roper Bit 5" 7" floating shanks. Stainless steel with a sweet iron mouth. Although this may look to be a strong bit, if used with a moderately snug curb, the bit/mouth piece will continue to lay flat across the horse's mouth and bars.  It has been used quite successfully with horses that have split or damaged tongues  & bars or are just plain anxious about their mouths.  Because the  shanks float, they allow the curb to move from side to side,  a new sensation for most horses.  Animals seem to go progressively better within only a few days as the they become accustomed to this new action.
